Then there's having to drag a dying tree into your home. You spend 20 to 50 bucks on something your just going to throw away in a few weeks. Then you have to put a bunch of crap on it that your going to have to pack away again in a few weeks. By which time, it sheds a crapload of needles you have to sweep/vaccume up, turns excrement brown, and becomes a fire hazard. At which point you have to drag it back out, find someplace to chuck it, and sweep/vaccum some more.
Artificial tree! Mine lasted 18 years. Just got a new one originally priced at $150.00 for $49.99. Nice tree. Up in flash with folding limbs.

Oh, and then there's having to play musical families. Have to be here, there, and somewhere else, by such and such a time. Reminds me of Thanksgiving. Big PITA. Time off i think should be to relax, not be made to drive all over hells half acre for BS social calls for people you hardly even know, while putting up with 10 times the stupidity on the road.
I did that for a few years then drawn the line. I told my family that I was not spending the holiday in a car for no reason at all. I see my family throughout the year. Christmas is stressful enough with about everything you listed in the previous post. Adding a roundy round in the car does not happen for me anymore. However, if anyone has the notion to drop by my house for a chunk of ham and pie they are welcome.

Whatever Xmas was supposed to be, it's was lost on me. My wife loves xmas however, so i keep my mouth shut and do whats expected of me. Seeing her smile and the spark in her eyes is worth it.
My wife is the Christmas person at our ranch. Xmas has been lost on me when I see thousands fly out the door for gifts. It is commercialized beyond recognition. It never ceases to amaze me watching "A Christmas Story" where entertainment was listening to Little Orphan Annie and a football was a REAL Xmas present. Not a $800.00 laptop and iPod! Things sure have changed and not always for the better. However, we make Xmas as special as we can for our kids. My Xmas as a kid were great (the football was a REAL gift back then) and I want my kids to have a great Christmas. My girls are older now. Want clothing!
