I was describing SH3 to a friend (via email), as he was interested about how well foggy weather worked. I told 'em it worked well, looked convincing, etc.
Also mentioned that fog occurs during very windy weather, or windy/stormy weather. He wrote back, mentioning that whenever he was on the ocean (he sails a lot), he's never encountered any great amount of fog, while it was windy. That got me to thinking; I also can't remember a single day/night when it was foggy, along with any appreciable amount of wind. All foggy days seem to have been extremely calm, with next to no wind. So here I am after playing SH3 for months, sailing through 3 sorts of fog (light/medium/heavy), sometimes while the wind is blowing at 15 meters-per-second. :hmm: I know modders have worked on waves. Is it possible to mod-away anything but the very lightest of winds, while it's foggy in SH3?
