When I was on vacation in the UK in 1998 I took a series of shots from a tour boat in Plymouth harbour. The guide didn't give out any ship's names and I wasn't in a position to write them down anyway. I was wondering if anyone could help me ID these ships either in class or name so I can mark the photographs. My knowledge of modern warships is rather pathetic. All help will be appreciated.
![]() ![]() Here we have a prehistoric pre-digital photograph complete with ugly red light leak or developer screw-up...I'm not sure. ![]() Type23 'Duke' class maybe? ![]() Trafalgar or Swiftsure class submarine? I'm not sure. ![]() I think the hull number is A138. ![]() I'm guessing Broadsword class frigate on this one, although the forward turret seems to be missing. ![]() And if anyone can tell me what the name of this odd-looking sculpture is, not too far from the Mayflower Steps, that's be good too. ![]() |
