Motor Torpedo Boat operations against u-boats

Hi,

while testing some things I found out how to automatically spawn motor torpedo boats from airbases. These boats actively search for you and attack you.

In a book from Buchheim (not 'Das Boot') I once read that later in the war these boats harassed u-boats close to their ports. Does anyone know more about this? I was wondering whether it makes sense to add such airbases for motor torpedo boats to the campaign layer

Any information would be great!
