I kind of agree with you on the flight sims, because flight sims require 3 dimensional space mastery (don't tell me subsims require 3 dimensional thinking to anything similar than flight sims with traffic).

But I think that you can fully enjoy subsims with no additional hardware such as joysticks, pedals and throttle levers and therefore are much more enjoyable. Especially with the silent hunter series time compression system, you always have the choice to skip sailing and looking at sunset all alone in an open sea, and just getting down to the action of the hunt, but this doesn't work in flight sims - at least I am not aware of any flight sims that offer time compression mechanics, sure they have autopilot systems that will get you wherever you want to go with no fuss, but you still have to fly there in real time.

So, considering those points, I think subsims are the best!

I don't get the train sims, watching the god damn trees on a fixed track for hours? ... Maybe if you mount a Gamma-Gerät (Gamma-device)- the railway-transported, concrete-emplaced predecessor to the Big Bertha on your train and have an ability to shoot with it, it would be more awesome.

I tried to find a sailing simulator once, found some indie developer version that had very poor graphics (very important for simulators since mostly you want the experience) and bad physics (also very important, since it should simulate real life), so... as I said - subsims are the best!
