Default Ship that reapirs itself?

So last night i was tracking a warship at about 5000 meters...I did all of this by hydro only so i wouldnt come up and be spotted...I waited till he was at 350 bearing and i let a salvo of torps go 4 total...

I then go to hydro station and listen to my torps to see if i hit anything...5 mins pass and Bam Torp imapct...only 1 out of 4 but hey from 5K and only using hydro im actully amazed i did...

Anyways so i go to external camera to see what ive done to this destroyer....Well it turns out i didnt hit a DD i hit a DAMN aircraft carrier LOL....im like omg, why now couldnt my other ones hit lol...anyways of course they all turn my direction and start in on me...After about an hour of real time playing they are still above but the carrier is really starting to List off to one side. I guess my direct hit in the center of her was doing more damage then i thought...Her bridge was on fire as well as just behind it...

and like i said she was leaning bad to the left almost to where the wires that stick out were in the water...So i save the game, cause by now its like 3 am lol and when i get back on today, i start from the save and low and behold she is 100%...Im like WTF she was half in water last night...

So is this a bug with the game, that if you save and come back they are 100% again...should i have just time compressed till she drowned?
