I have never understood the theories on the Japanese. As far as history can go it has proven to never underestimate them.

The simple truth of the matter is they deceived us and we made mistakes. Then they proceeded to kick our hind quarters half way round the globe till a streak of luck went in our favor and we sank four flat tops. The War in the Pacific IMHO was far more brutal than Europe. The Japanese fight to the absolute last, add to their since of duty and warrior pride.

I feel it could have very easily last decades had it not been for the atom bomb. I had always heard the FDR theories but always thought they had started in the 60s. I had always envisioned the US as 100% united. Guess that was just my naïvety.
