Default Reports on my first three patrols

First off let me say, I'm really enjoying this game and I never thought I would! I haven't played any sims for several years now and the only game I played that had anything to do with subs was silent service on my old 386.

Anyway, on with the report.

First patrol wasn't exactly pleasant. 15m/s winds and heavy fog throughout from the moment I got out of the harbour to the moment I returned. I almost really got seasick just watching the game!

Didn't seem to bother my watch officer though.

Anyway, despite this I managed to get up nice and close to a couple of C2's and dispatch them easily.

My very first kill!

I got setup on several other targets but the fog was so thick I couldn't attack them.

My second patrol doubled my tonage and I didn't even get half way to my assigned patrol grid before I was out of torpedos. I though it was a huge success but it was nothing compared to my thrid patrol.

Everything was going fairly well on my way to BF44 via scarpa flow. By the time I reached Scarpa I'd already sunk 3 ships. Unfortunately I got spotted and attacked by aircraft very close to the port and within minutes I had several destroyers searching for me. I took the U-52 down as deep as I could, went to silent mode and just sat still. It took several hours but eventually they started to look elsewhere and I was free to go on my way.
It was when I was coming up to the NW coast of Ireland that I received the report of a large convoy in the area. I setup the interception and after a short wait this is what I could hear!

I had never encountered a convoy before so I was surprised to find that I was almost salivating at the prospect of so many juicy targets all sitting around together. Only a gentle breeze was blowing and I had myself in the perfect position.

A few hours later and they were all on the bottom.

I almost felt sorry for them, it was just so easy. After the bloodbath I continued towards my assigned grid even though I only had 4 torps left. Unroute I encountered a C2 and a small merchant travelling parallel to each other about 2000m apart. I set up inbetween them and gave the C2 my last 2 remaining torps from the bow tubes while the Merchant got the stern tube. All the torps hit virtually instantaneouly and down they went. The weather detriorated and shortly later I dispatched another Merchant with my final torpedo.
Completely out of torps I was ordered home. On the way I came across another C2. The weather had cleared so I gave her all of the remaining deck gun ammunition and then emptied the flak gun on her.

Lucky Girl!

Short of ramming her I had no other option but let her go. Some very releaved British merchant mariners will be thanking their lucky stars tonight!

So 1 aircraft and 17 ships of 70,000 tons later I dock back at Keil a very happy man.
