Can't load from external torp storage

So, I've just made a successful attack run on a large convoy. Took apart 4 BIG ships, and have seriously crippled many others. Used up all of my internal torpedos. I took a 2+ hour pounding from enraged destroyers, but managed to evade, no damages.

Surfaced and secured from silent running. Bow and stern torpedo rooms are fully staffed, no red exclamation points denoting tired crews.

Why won't they load from the external torpedo storage?! Auto loading is set to On.

I run the GWX 3.0 mod if that helps. Windows Vista 32bit home edition.
