I use the Turms Your Way mods to do custom emblems, and it doesn't work with any of the existing .tga files - once it's enabled you have to use the ones you create with its templates - but I used one of the stock emblems as a starting point and incorporated it into a larger design with good results.

This is very interesting.....Could you possibly point me where I could get "Turms Your Way" mods?
this thread just made me wnat to try making a side emblem....as I used to do for my plane in IL2......
