Default OGG -> MP3: folder trouble

I need a free converter for OGG to MP3. Not difficult, Google lists them by the dozens. What is difficult is to find a converter that allows batches of folders (two layers: folders [artists] with folders inside [albums] ) being listed and then converted in one session.

Recommendations?

OGG is nice and well, but on an MP3 player it sucks almost twice as much power from the battery, effectively halving (if not more) the endurance supply of one accu load. It's because OGG , I read, means more work for the CPU.

Not even the smallest gadgets nowadays escapes from being turned into a complicated science. I want back my walkman and cassettes. I wonder if the claimed gain in luxury and comfort really is worth the multiplied investements in time and learning you need in order how to operate new things.
