Sadly the US has done just that in many cases... Sure the US is tough on tyrannical regimes which are not friendly to the US. . but not otherwise even quite tolerant. Imo terrorism is an ideology(idealism) which should be fought with guess what opposing ideology(idealism). And try to stop reinforcing their belief in the ideology of terrorism done from the US side.
