![]() What attracted me to the series in general was the 3D cockpit. Was nice looking out through the glass, look back at the wing. And each plane had it's own unique model. Replays were cool as well, seeing the afterburners engage, speedbrakes deploying and contrails from the wingtips while maneuvering. Oh, and keeping the fire button pressed to follow the munition. Neat features. Didn't have a PC at the time, so it was as close as I was gonna get to a sim. AC obviously isn't a sim, but it has enough attention to detail to make it look/feel authentic. The Dualshock 2 made a lot of difference too, with the all-analog controls. Could keep the brakes lightly pressed and maneuvre right at minimum speed, turn really tight. Or try to maintain maximum speed without afterburners in the unavoidable canyon-flying mission.
