I love the game although I am not good by no means. I am lucky to play in the low 90's. Just never really worked on it although my putting is excellent.
My clubs are old, most from the 60's/70's. I have Sam Snead irons mostly and modern metal "woods" with all matching grips. Being in the mid 50's I still hit long drives, my weakness has always been my approach shots. I use a long lanky swing which I feel good with, but other golfers watching it will cringe in seeing it in action and wonder how I get away with it. But haven't played in 15 years due to lack of time I find now players hitting drives much longer than all used to back way back. Is it the clubs now or the balls being better? Mostly I play on computer as of late, there is a good site that features The Old course at St. Andrews that I love. It is very realistic, more so than most. I will never get to play there for real but I am thankful I can play online at least. Any way I can download a scorecard from this course? I would like to see a good birds eye view of it. I have checked many sites with no luck. I am in southeastern Alabama and the green fees here are quite reasonable compared to most elsewhere and the courses are very good, so other than a quick trip to the Florida pandhandle to play once in a while this is my option. Best round so far, 78, but it was pure luck. Would appreciate a copy of the St. Andrews Course scorecard if possible. |
