Default Ahoy Me Hearties !

Avast Ye ! Shiver Me Timbers etc etc

Hi all,

Another nautical cove newbie hooked on the Silent Hunter Series

I've been dabbling with Sub Sims for a while but didnt really get into them until I had SHV as a gift.

I'm slowly progressing thorugh the game and loving every minute (in frequent CTDs an execption )

How does my machine know how to crash at the precise point I'm about to finish off 2 merchants under a 3 destroyer escort ?

I attack both merchants with one still afloat after my 1st run, both are successfully hit but the destroyers come looking complete with depth charges with my name on them. I crash dive to avoid ASDIC detection narrowly avoiding their attack.

I swim underneath the reamaing merchant to come up the other side with my aft Torpedo ready to fire. Raise to periscope depth, Destroyers start pinging me again, I have seconds to get the shot away and crash dive to get out of trouble. LOS!.......

Screen Freeze with a "BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP".

This by the way was going to exceed the 50,000 tonnes required to finish the East Coast mission......

Suffice to say several expletives followed

Still, I'm so glad I dodnt venture down the WoW path !

Hope to see you all on here and make your aquaintance
