Bug issue...Please help

Bear with me on this one. I have noticed a problem which seems to be happeneing with more frequency. Icons and buttons on the screen keep whiting out....This usually happens when I meet a convoy or more than one ship.
It usually starts with the map icons turning completely white, then the clock, then the activity icons. Sometimes when I look through the periscope it is completely white.....
I try to reload my previous save but the load screen picture has a white border and then the game crashes to desktop. If I reload everything is ok but it is starting to happen a couple of times an hour and getting really tedious......
Just for your info, my computer is beyond the required spec and I have played for a while before this started, I have also re-installed and I am playing the game tabbed. Please help!!!!
