Default Multiplayer issues: LAN and objectives

Problem number 1:
This might sound funny but why is there a LAN option for multiplayer?
With stuff like Hamachi around and the game being cracked, having multiplayer available between original copies and cracked copies (or just between cracked copies) sounds silly in the climate of OSP. I mean we already NEED to be online, right?

Problem number 2:
Why are we thrown out of a patrol as soon as we complete the objective? Sink 50k tons in one convoy? It took me and a friend 10 minutes after our first eel to sink that many. I had 4 more eels on the way and 3 more ships burning and taking on water (quick tube reload). End result? My friend had 40k tons, I had 12k... yeeeey... It took us 1 hour to get into position. The escorts were like meters away from discovering us... BAM, You've WON! MP in SH3 mostly consisted of shooting your eels in 10 minutes and then dodging escorts for 3 hours
