sloshing from outside , ocean sea waters hitting against the hull as well.
boats not sound proof from outside elements .
also air bubbles from hull going to surface,steel amplifies the outside elements ..

modern subs this has been addressed to a degree , hull coatings and sound proof panels installed rubber shock absorb mounted motors etc.

again if you dont like the audio mod simply dont use it..
