Default Favorite Battle

Has to be the battle of Philippine Seas. You just can't beat it. Several large JP TF, hundreds of planes from both sides, stay in the same general area and for 4 days you can battle it out...just never enough torps.

We leave port on a dark night, no fanfare, no goodbyes.

We get contact reports of several large JP TF headed for us, so we head to intercept. The skies are stormy, but the water is still a teal blue as we search.

Weather forecast getting worse,

Radar contact. Weather has worsened. One lone merchant. We man all guns for a surface attack....and send them to Davy Jone's.

The day passes, the weather clears some and we get radar contact. Sonar reports heavy screws.

.

.

Still picking up large contacts.

Night comes and the weather clears. We're on a good inside track. There will be plenty targets to chose from.

We sat up our attack. Our first target is the Yamato. We fire and get many hits, but he moves on. Almost get run over by the Mush as I send a few more at the rear of the Y.

We'll get him later, We'll have to take a CA, 4 torps sends him under.

To finish up...LOL...We get our remaining sterns in the Yamato the next morning. It wen't under..Here's some more pics of the battle. I got it in fairly close order. I went after these two TF's for 3 days.

Course they send lot's of planes after ya.

More pics, no real order.
