I used the very old iPhoto Plus 1.01 from 1991. And I didn't have any problems with the TGA-Files when doing my Emblem Mod.
No extracting, no unpacking. You can start with editing TGA's immediately. Take a look if you can dig "IPhoto Plus 1.01" out somewhere, if not, ask me. :P Evil Jester '76
