Can I remove that annoying 'select current orders' screen?

I think this has been discussed before but I may have missed it.
Basically,I want to remove that stupid bloody screen that keeps popping up when either planes appear or ships are spotted.It is both distracting and quite dangerous when planes are approaching,as you are fumbling around trying to select an action.I want it out of the way for good,so I can quickly assess the situation myself and make my own decision whether to dive or fight it out (against planes that is).
It really is quite uneccessary at this point in the game,maybe when we first bought it it may have been useful
