Default How do you deal with a radar-equipped enemy?

I'm an early war fan, but this career I'm trying to play as long as I can. That being said, I obviously am not well schooled at late war tactics.

I'm on a patrol off the coast of Canada in late November of '42. No schnorchel of course, but I do have a FuMo radar set (big whoop that thing is ) and Biscay cross. I'm trying to approach enemy convoys and task forces, but I keep getting the "enemy radar signals detected" message. From the bit of research I've done on the forum here, that doesn't necessarily mean that you're in their radar range at that moment. But that brings me to my question - what do I do now? Do I submerge and try to make a slow speed submerged attack? Do I attempt to determine their course and try and make it in front of them surfaced and then submerged? Do I say damn it all, go in and let them detect me with radar and then submerge and try and be as quiet as I can and attempt to get close?

In essence my question boils down to: How do I make an approach when the enemy is using radar?
