Well "The Terrible Hours" (Peter Maas) is not about the Pacific War, but it´s an amazing book regarding other "Escape from the deep"
It´s about the "Squalus" rescue in 1939, leaded by "Swede" Momsen. I´m reading it right now (finishing it)
