ahoy, i just thought it was worth mentioning this small point as I hear so much praise on this site for the GWX team and deservedly so
![]() As you can see from my joining date ive knocked around this site for almost 5 years now so i know a bit about Sh3, not so much the modding side of it but the playable side anyway, my job takes me away quite alot so i only get to visit the site every so often. Anyway, to the point:- Ive been serving in submarines for the last 9 years now and I remember back in 2002 when I was on HMS Tireless and we went to America to sink the USS Wainwright on an excercise, i remember it well, going to action stations, the sound of High Pressure Air as the eel left the submarine, and then everyone in the control room watching the Pericam (Periscope Camera), the 1st torpedo hit and everyone cheered a bit, the second missed (god knows how, it was a stationery target). Any modern ship would have broken in half but the Wainwright was built a long time ago and she stayed afloat due to her hardened materials. Anyway, my point being having been in the water when it happens for real i didnt get that feeling that i do now when i intercept a target, line up, check my data and then fire off my eels and wait for that all important sound of the target breaking up and then the cheer of my boys before the chief gives them a quick b@llocking to keep the noise down ![]() Thats my point Kaleuns, having done it for real, GWX gives you that much more that makes it feel better than real, they give you the realism, the achievement and that rewarding feeling all nicely wrapped up like a little bag of realism and so do all those other modders out there.......great work GWX and all the others modders out there that bring SH3 out of the dark depths and back into the waves of glory! nuff said ![]() keep up the good work ![]() |
