As some may have seen by my screenshots in the other games screenshot thread, I have been playing Red Alert 3 lately. Every so often in the game I will get some strange crashes. Needless to say I have begun to think that my video card may be overheating (XFX nVidia 8600GT I got a year ago). However, when I check the nVidia Control Panel there is nothing to suggest it is. In the shot I am about to post, I have just Alt + Tabbed out of RA3 straight to the Control Panel. The temp is 72*C (highest I saw was 74*C). The card is idling at 53*C right now. With that said, do you think my card is overheating? I know cards can get pretty hot, even hotter than mine. Here is my real question, though. See the pic.
![]() In the pic the fan is set for Automatic Fan Control. There is 0.00% next to the temperature. I assume that is the current speed of the fan, which is stopped. When I Alt + Tabbed out of the game it was still 0.00%. Is that normal? Am I looking at it right? Is something wrong? I guess I just got myself paranoid (I hope). ![]() ![]() |
