Just one question before I start, which one is the skin in your downloads mate? I can't find it?

Yamato I couldn't resist, I never had the inclination to do a rusted sub until last week! Turned out pretty good didn't it?

Thank you both, SWCowboy and Wolfehunter!

SWC, if you can't locate the files, I do have them (downloaded and archived all of Wolfie's sub skins a while back) and can upload that skin to my FF account tomorrow.

That being said, I did not mean you had to just alter the color scheme of Wolfie's skin. The pic I posted was the only way I knew to roughly illustrate what I had in mind. So you can make a skin from scratch, if you like, and I'll leave it up to your artistry as to what sort of camo pattern would look best with the blue-on-blue paint.

However it's done, I'll wear those colors proudly!

It sure does, yamato. SWC is a great skin artist!

Seeing that rusty boat gives me the idea of borrowing Rubini's water streams technique to create the effect of rust occasionally flaking off the hull. I wonder how that would turn out? :hmm:

I'll be seeing what I can do about the skin from Wolfehunter between tomorrow and this weekend. Got 4 days off and next week another 4 off, but right now I smell like the Navy and my wife is demanding I take a shower after dinner - so - off I go.

Take your time with that skin. I'll be spending my weekend dismantling and upgrading my computer, anyway, so I'll be offline for a few days while I'm reinstalling all my stuff.

Between the works of you, yamato, and Wolfie, I have a hard time choosing a paint scheme for my boat! You guys rock!

You're getting the general idea, SWC.

First, subtract the patches of frost.

Second, the lower half of the hull needs to be darker...like the ocean depths. Maybe a dark navy blue or midnight blue.

Third, the upper half should be a slate blue. Think a grayish blue or blue with the gray undertones of stone.

Lastly, the camo stripes that were originally black should probably stay black. Having them the same color as the lower hull just doesn't seem to work. They just don't stand out well that color.

Ok, I've got my new mobo and CPU installed. Time to wipe the HD and start reinstalling everything. I'll be back in a day or two. Wish me luck!
