:hmm: Is it offensive? If it is, I wasn't aware, and certainly didn't mean to offend anyone, and I apologize.

I believe it is considered a bit...discourteous...but not on the level of racism of the many other slurs out there.

Nothing like straying off topic.....best stop referring to the Americans as yanks and us British as Tommies :hmm:

Depending on precisely which context it is meant in

I would hope that all the abbreveations are only being used to make typeing easier.

Racism has no place here.

Agreed.....but I don't think any racist slur was intended in this instance.

Let me assure you that I had no racist intentions. I do not approve racism, or any other kind of discrimination.
I know that the ignorance is no excuse, but please bear in mind that English is not my native language, and what comes naturaly for most of the people, I have to learn in a hard way. I consider this another lesson learned, so I edited my post and removed offensive word. Once more I apologize.

Now, I consider this subject closed, and continue on topic.

Usually I don't sink neutrals, although I did it a few times. On my first patrol I got trigger happy and sank a few Dutch vessels, mostly small ones . Once I damaged a Greek ship sailing in the convoy. At first I was glad she didn't sink, but later I found her again straggling behind the convoy, and I couldn't let her go.

I do get tempted by the big fat neutrals, especially the Venezuelan convoy of 4 tankers in Caribbean, and Swedish and Spanish liners sailing along the Spanish coast.

If I find a neutral ship of war, or ship that may help an enemy in time of war, in an enemy harbor, that to me is fair game.

Though one time I was about a day out of Lorient and spend a good amount of time shelling a German cargo ship

When it was light enough to see the flag I dove out of shame so they wouldn't see me.
