Actually it has been proven that subs dont implode, USS Thresher proved it to divers years ago. When subs reach "crush depth" what actually happens is a leak will develop in the hull or a crack and because the water at that depth is under such incredible pressure the force of the water floods the entire boat so fast that the pressure equalizes to the outside pressure and the boat sinks intact. In effect the entire inside of the boat floods in a matter of seconds.
