Its a publicity stunt, Stardock kinda pissed me off after they started making people use SDC and FAILPULSE. both of which are shoddy programs.

There is no big game company that is going to adopt ANY of those "rights" as much as we would love them to.

You don't have to use the program rilder. Its not a requirement to play stardock games. They know its buggy because its still beta.

blacklight your absolutely right! The only other company that respects gamers is Egosoft. I dont' know any other that will take the effort to work with its fan base and mod communities like these two.

You either use the shoddy program or you don't get updates.

Its another example of game companies being so afraid of pirates that they screw over their customers more then the pirates.

They took it out then because I see no way to download patches via web-browser.

Your right they did. I haven't played it in a year. They used to post it on there news page.... They've changed. I'm upset... But I found patches on other sites like fileplanet etc.:hmm:

The latest Impulse is working quite well on my PC. The previous versions had some issues but at least Stardock is actively addressing them. I have all the GC versions, downloaded, installed and archived through Impulse. No real hassles...

I'm pretty "old skool" when it comes to these things, but I'll give SD the benefit of doubt concerning Impulse...

Well it works, somwhow. I managed to download the last updates with Stardock Central, a couple of months ago it was still possible.

But they'd better stop talking too much about how they care for us, when they are forcing that ****ty application on us instead of providing a proper installer.

Taylors list reeks of opportunism, imo. He shouldn't think gamers are that dumb.

Stardock is probably the only western development studio other than Epic that has shown anything remotely resembling "sentience". Most other studios business models consist of robotic habits such as "hype" and "buzzwords" or the non-existent "experience" of their titles.

Yes, that's right. I think they should stop bitching about how awesome they are, but they have my support when it comes to the games.

Well, Stardock's successes of late have probably inflated their ego a bit. It's just nice to see that a studio making huge sums of money hasn't sold its creativity for the sake of bigger profits. It turns out Stardock's business model involves intelligent spending and not running themselves bankrupt over a rock texture.
