pilgramage to the shrine

I know this should go in the general board but I need a quick answer. Im still booking my flight. Can someone local take me to the Alamo to pay homage on hallowed ground to Texas' fallen? would I need to stay another day or leave late on sunday. If leaving late, how late?
This would make the trip.

Make sure you do a trip to the Johnson Space Center. Worth the trip.

The space center and the Alamo are not in the same city.

I lived in San Antonio for 4 years and also worked (commuted to) at the Johnson Space Center during that time (SkyLab Era)...don't ask.....its classified...

You are right... nothings close in Texas... but it is only a hop, skip, rest stop and a jump on the Interstate from Houston to San Antone. The Alamo is off the River Walk in downtown San Antonio. Public transportation is abundant and relatively cheap.A day ,or beter still a night, on the River walk alone is worth the trip.

If Budda95 ,you really are military or ex-military the area abounds with military folk and bases. You should have no problem with finding helping hands to get you around.

Well...I live about 15 minutes from the Space Center, so I could help you with that.....but San Antonio and the Alamo are about 3-4 hours down the road depending on traffic.

Might help if ytou put up your schedule.......

Or there are wonderful things called taxi cabs that 9 times out of 10 can get you where you're going.

Im sure most in San Antonio will know where the Alamo is.
