Just having a little debate with a friend of mine that works at MS. These guys can't fathom the idea that I still use a 13 year old Liteon model SK-6000 keyboard and my favorite mouse is a 13 year old Microsoft Intellimouse! The best damn mouse ever made in my opinion, and probably one of the best damn keyboards ever made!!! I paid a ton of cash for this stuff back then - The mouse comes in at $89 + tax of course, and the keyboard about $100! I'd even go as far to say that this mouse is weighted almost perfectly! It is heavy and smooth at the same time!
For my gaming, I have always kept a second gaming mouse hooked up to my system, with my current version being a highly modified (voided my warranty, but its worth it for gaming accuracy) Razer Copperhead plugging away at a massive 1000 Hz polling rate and 2000 DPI. A normal mouse runs at 125 Hz polling rate and 400 DPI in case you don't know. But still, for surfing and general mousing, this older MS mouse cannot be beat, bar none! ![]() There is even more to this story in that Microsoft called me in for some work, and this question came up too! What exactly is wrong with keeping good equipment from the past exactly? ![]() Case closed. Did i mention even the keys are weighted properly on this keyboard? -S |

Well i recently brought a new mouse 3XFire, laser gaming mouse by A4Tech. two buttons on the side 3 on top + mouse wheel works well so far. Keyboard of a few years still working great Is some chinese made called Chicony which is a surprise as they got to be built tough from the key bashing when playing certain games that require a lot of ahh key bashing!
![]() I got boxes full of old mouses/keyboards that still work but some just aint up to the speed needed, okay for browsing but not gaming. |

I'm still using my seven years old MS Force Feedback 2 joystick(probably the best joystick ever made. MS WHY did you stop making these?), and I used my ten years old Sennheiser headphones until just a few weeks ago, when they finally snapped in two when I was putting them on my head
![]() Those times aren't even close to 13 years, but still quite long for electronics these days. |

Back in the day, I had this FANTASTIC keyboard that actually was made of metal, had some serious weight to it, and the keys were actually ball bearinged and really solidly attatched. They depressed with a very satisfying "Click". The only problem I ran into was my roomate. I'd type on the computer when he was trying to watch TV and he got REALLY annoyed with the "clickcliclclickclick clickclickcklick !" all the time. Then, one day, I came home, and my favorite keyboard was missing and in it's place was this plastic "SILENT" keyboard. The other one had been picked up by the trash men earlier that day.
![]() Yeah I was PISSED !!! The "Silent" plastic keyboard lasted me only 4 years (Long after I had moved out and lost touch with the guy). That metal one had lasted almost 10... and replacing isn't an option because they only seem to make the cheap crap plastic ones now. ![]()

I've had this debate with intel people. They are baffled when I don't buy their latest processor evertime they come out with something new. Plus they laughed at me when I told them I bought a celeron.

I don't trust Intel to give you a good product for a good price without any competition. The Celeron was a bad CPU thrown to you for a decent price. It started the bad taste in my mouth for Intel. -S |
