I see four torpedoes heading for the red ship which has the white X centered on it.
All 4 running hot straight and normal. Yet they somehow pass right though the White X ,centered on the red ship marker without a hit. No call of "thats a dud sir". ![]() So what happens in those cases? Obviously it is too late to go watch on external view if they ran too deeply....and in any event I always set 2 out of four to run shallow to compensate for the expected deep runner.

It all depends upon what you're shooting at. I've often missed a destroyer because the torpedo has run straight under it, eaven though i set the thing to the shallowest deapth possible

Naw, I'm talking about freighters. I rarely if ever take on a Destroyer.
I can't believe that 2 out of 2 torps run under merchantmen when set at 5 feet depth. ![]() It seems more like the sim is doing a roll of the dice and saying not this time bub... ![]() The only thing I can think to do is run out and watch evey shot..but if I do that then the sim does 100% hits ...except for the occasional dud of course. Sometimes you can't win.

You could watch a replay and see what's going on....

1. Those freighters run to drafts of 30 feet...you could be right about them running too deeply...but more than 30 feet..and 100% of those torps set for shallow depth? I have a tough time believing that.Still gaming being what it is..you could very well be right.
2. As I said any time I go watch the action they always hit home..without fail. I have a hunch it would be the same with a replay save. But since you brought it up how do you save a replay? Do you just check that box in the save game screen and it saves everything from the last reload? How do you replay a replay save? I've never used it. Might be worth a try. Good suggestion.
