Do you have a citation for this quote? Not that I would ever hint that news media would misquote a presidential candidate for political agenda....that would be wrong.

Well, another day in Subman's world where unsubstantiated misinformation and outright lies pass as fact. If one repeats a lie, is he a liar? :hmm:

If there must be a thread bearing the title "Idiot Quote of the Century", I suggest said quote should become:

Quote:
Dunno - came in email. Ticked me off when I read it. -Subman

Genius.

P.S = 8 years of George Bush and this is the idiot quote of the century? Are you aware that many people actually make a living cataloguing the idiotic remarks of G.W?

Once again, you crack me up......

See his thread on the George Bush sewage plant. Love how he mocks homosexuals and California's tolerance of them.

He kisses the feet of all Republicans and worships Bush.

Why we need change-

The United States was often called the greatest country in the world.

However, due to it's alarming prosperity at the expense of lower-class citizens, numerous reforms were introduced in the late-19th and early 20th centuries, that continued unabated, whether they were needed or not.

The market crash of 29', which was, unbelievably, related to trying to get rich quick off of the stock market, led to the Great Depression, at the expense of the lower classes.

Fortunately, FDR's New Deal temporarily distracted poor American lower-class citizens until an event completely beyond the Federal Government's control, namely WW2, ushered in prosperity at the expense of lower-class citizens who ended up having to fight the war, and die in it, despite cameo appearances by some rich people.

After the war, a new period of prosperity ensued, with only nominal tax costs to those who couldn't afford to not pay taxes, a drawback which was balanced by a variety of inefficient government services and a poor public education system.

U.S. foreign policy began a practice of getting into everyone's business to thwart Communist Russia, which totally had nothing to do with us helping them in WW2, and buying off nations that used to be part of the British Empire. The lower class of society was overjoyed to hear that the middle class, who had more money than them but not enough to avoid taxes, would share this burden.

The U.S. pursued conflicts in many countries, with the goal of preserving freedom in countries other than their own, aided by the tax dollars and sometimes the lives, of everyone who wasn't rich. Their valiant sacrifices, coupled with the advent of television, enabled U.S. political leadership to mess up every war since that time, and promptly blame it on someone/something else.

However, unimpeded U.S. progress in the fields of politics, future destruction of international standing, and wasting money and or American lives, was temporarily inconvenienced by social revolutionaries called "hippies".
The "hippies" were the first group in America to found a political movement on the basis of nothing whatsoever. Sadly, they were all destroyed when a torrent of "reality" came crashing down on the U.S. in the 70's.

The 70's brought the first "oil crisis" which was promptly exacerbated by federal price controls, ensuring not only excessive oil prices, but also shortages for everyone. Except rich people.

The 80's seemed posied to deliver more of the same when a man named Ronald Reagan became the U.S. president. He introduced, Reganomics, a congress-diluted version of actual economics, which sort of propelled the country to economic heights it would have achieved years ago had the government not stolen most of the population's money.

Immensely satisfied with the relative prosperity, the U.S. launches a war to defend Kuwait in the 90's, a nation never previously heard of. At the same time, it ignores aid requests from countries the world over that have no oil.

1992-2000, President Clinton proves that Democrats cannot damage people's desire to make money enough to affect their own Presidential terms.

2000-2008 George W. Bush proves that popular and congressional support only lead to low approval ratings, followed by implications that they knew he was lying all along. Preceded by scandals that people who can't fill out a ballot should be allowed to vote again or vote to begin with.
Succeded by scandals that he is the only president to get us into an unnecessary war, besides Nixon, who actually started Vietnam and not JFK, who was assassinated and therefore never did anything wrong, and World war 2 which was totally legitimate because otherwise we would all be speaking German after they invaded England and us with their river barges, which are clearly more than a match for the Royal Navy, and Japan would have attacked Pearl Harbor anyway if we hadn't imposed oil sanctions and basically told them what to do, Bush maintains that countries that commit genocide and coincidentally posses oil might be good targets.

Fortunately, Obama finally came along, providing a hope for changing the change we already endure with a change that involves more healthcare, eventually withdrawing from an occupied nation, and other things that in no way sound like all the stupid s*** we bought before.

Also he is black, which is significant when you are educated by superior American teachers. And, as a final showing of goodwill towards American people, he has donated all the money he didn't spend on his campaign to the IRS, who he says will spend it wisely. In turn we should all donate more of our money to the IRS, and vote for the candidate who will change America by repeating all the preceeding change.
