Default Where all the enemy ships gone?

Just wondering why after seven missions using the GWX 2.1 starting in 39 (now in June or July of 1940) I haven't seen a hint of enemy ships? Is this normal? It appears as if I am the only ship in the North Sea. There was one other sub, but it was in dry dock only partly built.

Have you enabled any of the mods that came with GWX ?
Notably Black Sea or Indian Ocean files ?

If so disable those
You only need those when playing in those areas

No, they just heard that you were patrolling around there and they moved to the pacific.

Try grid squares AM 51, AM 52, AM 02 & AM 29. You should run into something in one of these areas as they're heavily travelled. Watch yourself if you go in to AM 53 (use low time compression). It's shallow & I've seen quite a few enemy task forces spawn nearby.

BF 11 through 17 seem to be good areas too. Be careful in BF 13 though. That area seems to be heavily patrolled by British ASW craft. I frequently come across those nasty little MTB's there.

Thanks for the tips, guys. So do I have to disable the Indian and Black Sea mods? Does it affect the game as a whole?

They are to used ONLY when you are in either the Black Sea or Indian Ocean

As you have just found out with those files enabled there is NO traffic anywhere else in the SH3 world

My gawd! What do you know? There is a war going on! Thank you very much for the tips regarding the mods! Now to catch up on that missing tonnage.

Ha. I have been wondering the same thing! I just finished modding this and have been eagerly anticipating the new GWX-flavoured campaigns...Im only on my third outing but...I was getting a bit worried. I even sat motionless in the Dover Straight for a while - nothing. I did however have a contact icon on the map about 50km from my position but was unable to locate him by sound/sight.

I am hoping I can at least get my crew killed by some sort of ship rather than accidentally ramming the pier in Kiel at 1024 TC

Errrr, I have both campaigns enabled for my WaW3 career as I am assigned to the 30th Flotilla (Black Sea), yet in my other solo career I still meet ship traffics in the Atlantic despite the mod being enabled.
