Default Fox Radio Traffic

Newbie to SH4 and on first mission. Got a Fox traffic and the chronometer starts tickiing. Nothing on the Nav Map. Previous radio traffic said Japs just invaded Borneo. Don't have a clue but the stop watch keeps clicking. Any help appreciated.

Default Wow, that's a new one

What version are you using? What is the mission/traffic telling you to do?

Downloaded all the updates using game shadow so I'm using the latest version. The only indication I have is that Crew reported "RA Fox Traffic Received". Chronometer started ticking but the only last message on the radio was that the Japs had invaved Borneo. On my first mission in 1941. After restarting the game this morning, chronometer is not clicking. Just wondered what triggered it and what is Fox traffic. Where do you read it?

Fox Traffic is somthing like umm well.....a news report for the armed services. I'm sure someone can tell you exactly what it is and was historically. You can view Fox traffic as well as any other news by pressing "k" or opening the Captain's log. The chronometer ticking after the report I believe was purely coincedental. The chrono is for timing time between distance marks for a speed bearing and giving you a time until impact, which is indicated with the red mark on the compass (will turn a brighter shade of red with less then 60 seconds till impact. The actual reports I would watch for are of enemy convoys. When you find one thats withing intercept range map his course and try and set up an ambush.

Good Hunting.

Here's a page from Red Scorpion: War Patrols of the USS Rasher that explains Fox Traffic:

Not a problem, glad to help.

And BTW I said a red arrow on the compass, I meant the Chrono.

Could just be that you accidently tapped "x" at the sametime... Although that would only bring the chrono up... not start it... Oh well.
