In the "options" screen in video settings there is something called "Syncronized "
what does that mean ? I have own the game for 3 years but never noticed it , silly me

It syncs the game with your monitor refresh rate, which tends to avoid "tearing" in the in-game imaging. AFAIK best is to have it on if your system can manage it.
