Default Future of the UK

Does Great Britain's future hang on this judgement?

"Mr Brown has been lavished with praise by other EU leaders for his "courage" in going ahead with ratification."

The word courage is totally inappropriate. "arrogant disregard for the rule of law" is a far more apt description of Browns obnoxious behaviour.

So what happens if the government ratifies the treaty and then the court finds it unlawful?

I think here in the states a SC judgment like that would vacate the ratification but I admit i don't know enough about English law to know what would happen there.
