Default EU Fleet

http://eursoc.com/news/fullstory.php...s_Missing.html

Our gov't must have gone stark raving bonkers to approve of this. Have HM Royal Navy fly an EU ensign? F**K OFF! The bloody EU can go to hell if it thinks this countries armed forces will allow themselves to be ruled by some half-witted twit in Brussels!

NATO is there already as a joint military alliance, we don't need this crap from Europe. There is no need for a EU superstate, I want to remain independent!

The EU is supposed to be a trading union, not a bloody world power. Its gone too far this time, time for the EU to go sit in a corner and leave the UK alone. As has been said by the British Government once - "You can talk with the French all you like, but they will still betray you in the end."

Anyone got a spare TLAM? Just one... oh and the GPS coordinates for the EU HQ would be useful.

I don't see what all the fuss is about.

So the EU wants its own naval task force, its not as if we haven't served on joint operations with European nations before. I doubt RN ships will be flying anything other than the White Ensign, just as German or French vessels will continue to fly their own colours. Twits in Brussels won't be in charge of it.

This is something that we will get a say in where it goes and what it does. Sounds better than being dragged along behind Bush's war chariot the way we have been for the last few years, where we have had zero input or influence over the course of events and gained little in return but a huge bill and the loss of British lives.

NATO is about to crumble IMO, it serves no real purpose anymore since the end of the Cold War and the US is becoming increasingly loathed to have to contribute to it in the light of their engagements elsewhere. Maybe it is time Europe formed its own force and took care of its own defence?

Maybe they could rent them out, or lease with an option to buy. Have the EU pilots stop at the weapons store before launch.

£50000 per missile
£ 5000 for bombs
£ 1000 for fuel
£ 1500 per launch

£1,987,209 to change the flag.

Considering that the UK is the EU along with Germany, France et al and we have a list of vetos and exemptions as long as your arm I'd say that would qualify us to have a say.

The problem is our politicians are so spineless they will go along with anything. Hell they even go against their promise to hold a refurrendum, and then even after three nations have said no they will ignore those votes and carry on regardless. No, I don't the EU to have any say in what we do. It is a good idea to have another alliance, but still have them under their own nations control. In other words, NATO under something like EUMA (european union military alliance). The above agreement sounds far too vauge, and would be probably open to abuse by brussels who seem to be steaming on with whatever they want regardless of the general EU populus's opinions!

The EU wants to create a sphere of power alternative to American bully politik and Russia/China's variety of the same. But I don't think there's enough centralized power in the EU to get that done, at least yet.

Which all add up to a big fat worthless lie. We are being smashed by the EU and that is a fact.
