Default I found a sitting duck

RMS Queen Mary,it was sitting in BE 55 not moving at all,it was on an easterly coarse but not moving at all,and it was making the sounds of a sinking ship.

I hit it with one torpedo on the bow and she went down, what would cause this to happen?
Here is all my mods..Thanks in advance..

Not sure which Mod Pack has that unit in it.
But,
If it was not checked and corrected for the sinking ship bug?
That's my first guess.
That's what I'd check first.

Many times units are built on visuals alone.
No regards to the critical files, reflections, etc.

There are many good ship builders out there.
Not many GREAT ship builders though.

80,000 tons looks good for the tonnage

OK.
Nice Ships.
I have not looked at them.
But I still stand by what I said before.
When you create a new unit, many things must be adjusted.
If you don't make those adjustments?
You get strange results.
If you clone a bad unit with the sinking ship bug?
Guess what you get?
A new unit with the sinking ship bug!!!
I have seen 3rd generation clones with reflections from the original unit!
AS I said, the are many good ship builders.
But there are very few GREAT ship builders!

If you use S3D,
check the sim file.
the draught and mass settings compaired to the cfg file
is what you want to look at.
There is also a kind of offset.
Look at the Bismark sim and cfg files to see what I mean.
Those are finely tuned and provide a kind of guide that I have found to be
optimal for nearly all situations.

Hi Privateer, I use VonDos's Queen Mary, see this thread:
http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=136372
Although I use it in GWX 1.03 I have never had any problems, the link above shows it after 2 torpedo hits, took about 10 minutes to go down, quite spectacular, so definitely worth persevering!!

I thought this problem was eliminated from time...
Like reece, i never had any problem.
BTW, if problem is, i must resolve it! :hmm:

Privateer, you say i must see the draught and mass voices of sim and cfg files?

OK, I'll correct all differences.
BTW, can you say me what is UD parameter and how to set it, please?

The biggest thing with the sink ship bug is:
at times you'll find it sitting still, floating above water, or floundering.
If it's sailing fine and you whack it, it sinks fine!
It's a well known bug.
It's easy to fix.
We have posted the way to fix it MANY times!!
Those that have units out there with this problem ARE fixing it!
Kudos to them!

I know Von Dos is on it!!

It's not my intent to insult anyone for thier hard work.
It is my intent to help make them better at what they are doing!
