The only one I really didn't like is the 'Periscope Depth'. It's real good if you're surfaced, with all the diving sounds included, but they sound out of place if you're at 100 meters and coming up to periscope depth.
I agree. It is present. I have made this file for the first GWX. There was a dilemma. ' Periscope Depth ' from a surface of water and ' Periscope Depth ' from depth.
Different sound atmosphere and different orders. Different position of rudders of depth. I have tried to choose an average variant. Not so successfully.
If it is necessary for you - I can make a new file ' Periscope Depth '.

Actually, you guys should talk because with your productions skills and thomsens dedication, well, i see some common ground here.

Just planting seeds...
Yes. I would like to talk with Thomsen. For example about sounds Snorkel Up-Down. They are not present in SH3. But they are necessary!
I have made these sounds. Half a year ago. But could not connect to software SH3. To me promised help Rancerboy. But he was gone.
Yes. I would like to talk with Thomsen. But it is the Big Master. We are not familiar. I am confused.

There are some very nice sounds in your mod! Certainly a professionals work I will certainly add some to my game.

But why did you add echo to some of the sound files? The boats are crowded with equipment, provisions and men, so you won't hear any echo. I can only say this for a Type VII (U-995 in Laboe), but I guess it's the same for all boats.

In case you are remixing the sound some time, I would suggest to take out "jawohl herr kapitän!", like nippelspanner already said.

If you need help with translations or are lacking some german words, you can PM me.

Regards,
Mr. Fleck

Thanks. It is pleasant to hear these words from Germany. Why an echo? Yes, certainly in one compartment of an echo will not be (for example the Central Post or a compartment of torpedos). But between compartments the crew spoke using communication pipes. Hollow metal tubes. Therefore there will be a sound of a voice having such reverberation. So. If hatches between compartments are opened all. You are on Central Post. To you shout from last back compartment. You will hear a sound of reverberation. Even if all submarine is loaded by cotton wool.

About "jawohl herr kapitДn!". Please, I will clean it. But on submarines there were young guys. Not robots. For fun they could speak: "Captain", "Corsair", "Boss", "Father", " the Old old salt " and other...

Certainly, the help is necessary to me. Thanks. Give we shall make other files "Sounds of Engine Order" (clean "jawohl herr kapitДn!") and "Periscope depth". For the beginning. The present German voice will be necessary to me. I shall write to you PM.

I bet my a** - never ever they did this. At least not when confirming an order. they drilled this till perfection. the Marineakademie was for sure one of the hardest and most professional of its time. Kretschmer confirmed this in an interview and said that this paid off in the results during the war.

regarding the echoes. i noticed them too. often theys dont fit in place and have nothing to do with the pipes used for communications because the echoes are also inside the .wav files...

you will get a more precise review of your work soon, i have no time now. but i thought it could be useful for you and you could fix a few things in the next release?

I agree. You have won a bet. To joke it is possible only after battle. When I was very young guy I was on military service in group of confidential communication in deserts of the Central Asia. Against China. To joke there was no time. I have already forgotten it.

Certainly. I wish to change not correct files. Your help is necessary.
And if to me will help Mr. Fleck it will be the present German speech.

lol I don't flame. I believe in free speech.. Ya I read at the Sounblaster forum about those poping sounds. has to do with particular motherboards that don't support certain PCI slots requirements. Alot of low end Motherboards and surprising to me many of the Nvidia mobo boards too. I use intel motherboard and its old. I don't get those poping sounds. My IO controler died 2 months ago. You figure when you pay big cash for your product you would get service hay...? NOT from soundblaster. I used to respect there services and quality.. Now I wouldn't pay one cent for there garbage. Anyhow onboard sound cards are better for gaming verses the $$$. Vista has issues with X-fi cards anyhow. Cost me $600 dollars 2 years ago for this damb card and now its worthless..... well not totally yet. Anyhow IO controler for a newone would cost me $170 dollars...and that isn't including shiping and taxes. I don't think so.

Sorry for hijacking your thread Poul.
