It's an odd title, I know. I was just messing around and wondered what would happen if I placed the Environmental Effects 4.4 scene.dat into PE3. I was surprised. The water looked like W_clear's awesome water with kriller's awesome high textures. I didn't run it for long as I'm not sure what effects it would have mixing the two up. Does anyone know what effects this might have? Here are a few shots I took of my quick test.

Ha, ive been doing the same thing, id ask kriller or wclear on what exactly gets overritten in the scenes.dat. But i definately like this combo, me personally think they should combine the work for the uber super mod.

Could Kriller confirm if this combo is worth it?
Precisely, does having the E4.4 scene.dat limit the capacity of PE3 to generate specials effects etc?

I haven't tried this yet, but there is a huge difference in Krillers Sunsets and W_clears.
I thought much of that effect was coming from the scene.dat, and not the env_colors files (such as the halo effect/sunlight glow around the sun). But we're saying this is not the case, and using EE4's scene dat, and keeping krillers env_colors files does in fact not affect krillers skies?

Hi!!
It is exactely what i ask about few days ago in Environmental Mod tread. Is there a possibility to use water reflections and fog of EE in PE. So I second the question of my predeccesor: is there any other influance of scene.dat for PE3 looking/behaviour? Or we can assume that instead of water reflections and fog all other changes will be as in original PE3? regards Ad |

Some things I notice so far...
Slightly less "spread" of the sunset colors across the sky. Less translucence of the water. When viewed from above, the sub underwater is more cloudy grey, than clear through the water. I do like Krillers waves better at 2meter and 0meter than EEs. Will test more this afternoon. Off to work.

I'm gonna try that. I have PE3 installed. Pity we couldn't do that merge with TMO and RFB.
