I think subsim forum lacks an essential feature: a homepage for all the major mods for SH4, American and/or German side.
When someone browses subsim.com and the subsim forum there should a clear link to those homepages that should contain links for the download and also credits for the mod creators (maybe even with pictures; it would be nice to get to know all those talented moders). What do you think?

Attempts are made to create one sticky thread for the mods. Inside the thread contains the links. As of late, the mods fly out faster than I can post and update the stickied thread. For a while there I was getting PM's from the creators that they need the link posted but it has stopped. Therefore, to keep a one click stickied thread to all the mods, assistance is needed in a form of a PM with link to the thread within the body of the message. It takes less than a 30 seconds to get it posted. Currently, we sticky the major mods but the one guy who creates the smallest mod that does the greatest good gets moved down to page 3 in a matter of minutes with all the posting going on. I do not know of a better way to handle it at the moment. As usual, I'm open for suggestions. I know the most major mod creators have links in the sig area.

I was thinking of a homepage that would be maintained by the author(s) of the mod.
This way: * moders have a (standardized) way to publish their work * subsim only has to facilitate the technical problem (space on the server). there's no need for the moderators to keep track of all the versions of the mods * people know exactly where to look for updates As you can see, many people come to the forum and ask (over and over again) about the mods and where to get them from.

Good point! I know GWX has their own webpage. RFB has done the same as a forum but can provide the links to filefront and such on that forum. Some of the guys who make skins have their own webpage. I will see if I can get them together over the next week and assemble them on one thread. Sounds good to me.

Let’s face it; forum software is too limited to accomplish what is needed.

From a users (and learners like I am) perspective, having the Mods forum and their discussion in a centralized location like the Subsim Mods forum is/was great even though it isn't perfect.
The forum search function or search site + google etc can easily find things here that are not listed in a sticky topic. I enjoy reading the process of a mods development and have learned a lot. Now some of the mods are splintering off to separate locations which is too bad. Just my opinion... (sorry) Art |

Maybe on the subsim front page change the left column to subsim mods instead of subsim news .

Well, I did start a Subsim Wiki, but the provider I chose might not be the best one. Maybe if the modders who wanted to post something could use a Wiki template for their mods, and have it in various categories. e.g.
