Default Predator pilots suffer higher fatigue than real pilots

Who would have thought?

Pilots tire so easily because of the burden of carrying around their ego's.

So are you saying that Predator pilots have to work doubly hard at convincing people of their ego's? That makes sense now!

I can asure you it is not the ego that causes stress, It is the work itself, especially when scramble sometimes becomes an every day routine and you have to stay for more than 10hrs at work waiting for an alarm to sound

mcf1 - Obviously you are in the wrong air force. The USAF issues their pilots chromed wheelbarrows for their egos so as to reduce back strain. ;-)

I heard it was because of the size of their wallets. At least that may be true to commercial pilots anyway.

"Too much time staring at a screen, controller in hand, can impair domestic relationships."

Specially if you are just watching porn...

Brilliant! Gives a whole new meaning to the term 'joy stick', doesn't it?

This is actually quite an interesting piece. I don't fly myself, but do use flight sims. I have heard pilots say that flying a sim is harder than the real thing - I wouldn't know. Presumably this is because in real life you have a range of rapid sensory inputs which tends to keep the act of flying varied, and it is well known that variation in any activity tends to maintain attention and concentration levels for longer periods. It appears that sitting staring at a screen is just as tiring when flying a real life plane as a simulated one.

Of course, the fear of crashing in flames may also help to maintain concentration levels for real life pilots, too.

Yeah, I think wife will be remarkably upset if she found the man "staring at the screen" with his "stick" in hand.

As the article pointed, that behaviour sure "can impair domestic relationships"

All jokes aside, that is a very valid point. Flying is, by all accounts, a tough business. Trying to do it with limited input must be even more so.
