Last night I started a new career with a Sugarboat off the Indochina coast. I intercepted 5 merchies and 2 dds. I got orders from command to take out the escorts. What? You guys nuts! Ok, so I hit ahead flank and headed for them. The 1st dd stated to sail towards me fast. I was turning to face him and accidently sent a torp out without any locking onto the enemy. The torp started to do circles and fearing it hit me I crashed dived. Suddenly I hear WHAM! and a message saying she's going down. Apparently my erstwhile enemy ran into that circling torp and I couldn't belive my luck. At the end of the day I got 2 dds and 2 merchies.

Mama would be proud.

Now that is dumb luck! I was wondering how effective that the German anti-escort circling torpedoes were. I guess there is some use for them if an out of control Mk. 10 got a hit.

As limited as the S boats are, I do like playing with them. The small profile lets you get in closer on the surface and I like doing about 5 knots at slow speed.

As most of us are aware of, these was the standing orders at the beginning of the war. Priority was give to the enemy warships. I often wonder if things would have been different had we give priority to the tankers coming out of French Indo China or the Dutch East Indies?
