Can't get a good spread shot

I looked at the Warner Sobe (sp) resource, but still can't get a good spread shot. Lets say I see a ship in the scope that has a bearing 270-290. I lock on the thing and visit the target map to watch the torp path. I then adjust it for 2-3 fish and then them into the target. Why do they often hit at the same spot? Do I need to set the AOB differently depending on where on the ship to hit?

The other question is about the green line for torps. Does it need to cross the target? How can I adjust its length?

TIA!

Are you setting the spread for one torpedo, selecting the next torpedo and setting the spread angle for that one etcetera? If so, that won't work, you have to set the spread angle for a torpedo, fire it and then set it for the next, fire that... Or they will all be fired with the same spread angle and hit the same spot.

Hope that helps.

Above the dial were you set the depth of the torpedo is another dial. This dial is for adjusting the spread of the torpedo. I would recommend using the torpedo school mission to play around with the spread dial so that you get a feeling how it works.

One possible solution

Dick O'Kane lives!

A hopefully entertaining tutorial that will turn your targeting world upside down.
