Default Surface water up close SH3 & SH4?

While I do agree that everything generally looks better in SH4, I find the water surface up close looks weird in SH4. Perhaps it is just my imagination, but when I look at the water in SH4 it has a lot really sharp edges. It just doesn't look like water, since water usually has smooth curves as opposed to abrupt edges.

Is this just me? (maybe I will attach an example screenshot later)

you obviously talking about the chop and/or *real* waves. for what it's worth, no 3D simulator has EVER modelled the sea perfectly. It is very hard to do.

I've never played SH3, but from the screenshots I've seen, there just isn't the same degree of detail in SH3's wave engine as there is in SH4.

Even if the peaks begin to look surreal when you really pay attention to them, I find--once modded--SH4 to have one of the best 3D oceans in the industry!

chop/wave sidebar:
chop = winds
waves = gravity

Those waves are also demanding on the Digestive system if you watch them to much. :p

I think the waves are far better in SH4... but to be completely honest, unless you have a super great graphics card, the 'STILL' water effect is far better in SH3. Even on a good card the still water in SH3 is still hard to match up to, even you discount the see through effects of SH4.
