An example of how ho hum the PC gaming industry has become.

Of course some idiot will chock it up to piracy as the culprit as to why the PC gaming industry is down.

Remember several years back when Deer Hunter was on the top of that list ? :rotfl:

At Staples, we couldn't keep that title on the shelf ! I think to this day, no other video game we've sold since has matched that in sales.

Don't say anything against Deer hunter 2005 - i love it, and still play it often, late in the evening. It is both relaxing and exciting.

also, the grahics still are good enough to provide you with some very atmospheric screenies.

I think the number of games that I look forward to shrinks every year. I used to be pretty excited; picking up a PC game mag in January and scanning the previews of games to be released that year.

Alas those days are gone to be replaced with the bloody Sims and World Of War Craft!

BTW Steel beasts looks pretty cool.

I bought the deluxe verison a year ago and couldn't get it to look right ... had
to purchase a ATI 2600HD 512 video card to get the frame rates into an acceptable level.

Now it looks okay, but still a little dark ... love flying around in a seaplane up near Seattle way,
landing whenever I want to. Great scenery, great graphics ...

My grandson wanted to become a fighter pilot last year so I bought the expansion pack with the Hornet F-18 option to land on a carrier deck.

He flew it a couple of times and went back to his FPG games.

I still try to fly once a week ... now I want to learn how to fly a bush plane in FSX as if it were the real thing,
knowing all of the instruments, buttons, bells and whistle's.

Something deep inside wants to fly ... FSX is the next best thing

I use a joystick except when I am lazy ... the keyboard is too clumsy for true flight simulation, but if you know how to start in mid-air, then quickly turn on autopilot, then your mouse can do the flying.

That's the easy way to sit back and enjoy the scenery while flying low ...
