A Dallas man who accidently shot himself in the head while "showing off his pistol to friends" at a party last Saturday looks certain to make the 2008 Darwin Awards nominations.

According to the Dallas Morning News Andreous Robinson, 20, had been partying with chums in West Dallas when he decided to pop outside at around 1am and fire off a few rounds skywards.

Homicide officer Sgt. Bruce McDonald explained that Robinson "then came back inside and thought that he'd discharged all of the rounds, so he put the gun to his head and pulled the trigger".

Robinson's counting skills proved inadequate, and he was later pronounced dead at Parkland Memorial Hospital.

Wow, just wow. This man should win a darwin award, what he did is on the same level of stupidity as playing russion roulette with an auto pistol.

This one is borderline.

I had a former neighbor who taught gun safety for the Illinois Department of Conservation. His teen-age son attended the classes himself and was an excellent hunter to boot. Well, one day the boy decided to take a .38 and show it off to his friend. Despite the friends plea of "are you sure it's not loaded", he cycled the revolver and placed it against his head shooting himself under the temple.

The community of 3,000 was in shock because everyone knew the families background in gun safety and the boy forgot two major rules...

#1...Always check the chamber!

#2...Never....Never....Ever...Point a gun towards a body and pull the trigger unless in self-defence!
