Default The Jews of Iran

A interesting Australian documentary. Despite my self, I fund it surprising.

It may well be a good idea to stick the the topic of religious tolerance (or lack of it) in Iran,
rather than covering the broader issues that we have all discussed to death.

Interesting video. You might find this ironic, but Iran isn't actually as bad as the press makes it sound. In fact, the highest rated show in the country (also the highest watched by citizens) is on a Jewish man who helps other fellow Jews and attempts to strike back at the Nazis. Never have watched it, but I've seen photos of it. Odd to see a bunch of Iranians playing Germans!:rotfl:

The Iranian WW2 mini-series was called 'Zero-degree turn'. We'll always have Paris....or is it Tehran?

Little more info on the show. It's actually pretty good. I'd watch it again, and I'm a person who typically doesn't care for soap operas. Thanks for that photo, Torp.

I was in between apartments last summer, living on the floor of a friend of a friend. He was a Jewish Iranian, raised in Germany, also one of the worlds foremost experts in suicide bombing. He was a research fellow in Harvard, really interesting guy.

Actually that's a rather minor mistake compared to some WW2 flick visual bloopers. My favorite is from the disaster movie Pearl Harbor.(a disaster because it starred Ben Affleck) In the first view of Pearl Harbor, just before the nurses are shown in the small transport boat as they arrive at Pearl, you can clearly see the white Arizona Memorial in the background as the camera pans down from sky to harbour.

Another favorite blooper is the scene during the attack where they blow a massive wall of pyrotechnics behind some mothballed Knox-Class frigates and Spurance-Class destroyers with their modern sharp prows and the ASROC box launchers clearly visible on the decks. If we'd had a few of those in the fleet during the war the U-Boat threat would have been quickly mitigated.

I was about to get the the part in Pearl Harbor with the explosions on the destroyers that were CLEARLY modern-day frigates... I will admit that the battle sequence, though, was still one of the most accurate ever portrayed (as in the events were quite accurate and the destruction and deaths of characters were quite convincing; 6.5/10).

My favorite is the Japanese carriers with the catapults and angled flight decks but there are a ton of inaccuracies to choose from in that piece of trash movie.
