Default Really Final Pre-Release Pitch Test Poll (OK, so I lied before :)

OK - I know I said the last poll was the final one, but as some posters pointed out I forgot to mention last time (at the beginning anyway) that the wind/sea state in all the videos was exactly the same, and that these represent the maximum heavy weather conditions present in the game (15 m/s, or about 30 knot winds - sub sailing into the wind at ahead standard), and this information apparently would have influenced some folks' votes if they'd known it. Given the relative closeness of the votes in the previous poll, I was thinking it might be better to get a more informed view.

All three takes/videos below are the same as they were in the previous "final" poll, so if you remember how you voted and don't think knowing the info above would have changed your vote, then you don't have to view them again if you don't want to. I couldn't figure out how to blank out the poll results and let people vote again in the other thread, so I'm resorting to this approach to give people a chance to vote again based on "full disclosure" of the wind/sea state info as mentioned above.

Remember, please pick TWO CHOICES in the poll - first, which of the 3 did you like the boat movement best in, and second, which of the 3 did you like the way the water looked best in.

"Take 2" video is here:

"Take 3" video is here:

Thanks for the help (and this really is the last one before the release this weekend)

Well, this is the worst environmental conditions we can run across in the game, so it have to be rough!

Voting 3 for both!

2 for both... hands down. Again, the boat's rolling motion in 3 is way too rapid, and the ocean in 3 looks more like a bad day on the bay than the deep ocean rollers you should see way out there. 1 is a bit too tame on both fronts. 2 seems to be pretty much in the Goldilocks zone.

Yeah, I love the roll in #2. It seems perfect. Not too little, not too much.

I'm getting anxious to install this mod - very nice!

I voted 2/2, but would also be quite happy with Boat=2 and Water=3 which apparently is the case with a lot of other Skippers from the voting as it stands right now.

I'm not familiar with the modding technique, but is there sufficient granularity in the settings to have a water setting BETWEEN your current "take 2" and "take 3" test levels? Just a thought since the voting is very close so far.

Thank you for your excellent work...........Jim

Actually, that's about where this is probably going to wind up. The water and the boat adjustments aren't really independent of each other, so I haven't found a way (and I don't think there is one) to simply marry boat #2 and water #3 as such. However, the differences are pretty subtle at this point and I think we're going to get a pretty good mix of both boat and water somewhere between 2 and 3, with slightly reduced roll to boot.

Just got to do some final testing on the pitch factors, as well as on a few "bonus" battery life and speed fixes that involve these same files, and unless something weird pops up or RL intervenes unexpectedly this should be ready to release some time tomorrow.

Thanks for all the help folks

Since these are the absolute maximum possible conditions in the game, I voted 3 and 3 again; but I would like to see what it looks like with Boat 2 and Water 3.
